Castech Data Services Inc. is a Canadian company incorporated under the laws of the province of Ontario in 1998. It's offshore service bureau PARTEC Philippines has been existing since 1985. We have a total of 4,500 personnel ranging from computer programmers to data entry operators and technical personnel. We have a total of 14 locations and all are interconnected via hub to our central office with state of the art communication facilities. The group also maintains an Internet service provider and maintains 3 portals.
What are the main services of the company?
Castech Data provides medical transcription services, data entry, data conversion activities such as document scanning, OCR translation, imaging, indexing document mark-up using HTML, SGML, US MARC and other types of conversion services. It also provides litigation support services (Coding/Indexing of Legal Documents) Audio/Video & Animation Production and other business process outsourcing services such as a call center and technical support operation.
Are all works and projects done offshore?
Generally, all works and projects are sent offshore to its production site in the Philippines. This is the main reason why our clients benefits in terms of production cost. Notwithstanding the fact that we have the best programmers and technical facilities, our site enjoys a 12 hours advance time zone.
How many Medical transcriptionist does Castech have?
We have more than 400 Medical Transcriptionist and all are based with its Philippine subsidiary Partec Phils. One third of these MTs are editors and the total number of MTs is expected to grow by over 400 by yearend. All of our MTs are college graduates, major in health care courses like Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medical Technology, Pharmacy etc. All of our MTs undergo a total of 6 months training in medical transcription with 3 months classroom setting.
What is the bandwidth scalability of its offshore site?
We have 1 STM and three (3) DS3s which is equivalent to 132 E1 lines from four major carriers. This bandwidth capacity is equivalent to 177,000 hours of audio and approximately 42 million images downloadable per day. We have strong relationships with upstream providers that enable us to activate bandwidth in a short time frame. Our firewall is NAT, a CISCO feature. Our technology is CISCO- based.
